Guest guest
Misty, word of advice, be yourself and tell the truth. I think what they are looking for are people that have the potential to turn to some other course of addictive behavior in lieu of eating. Like for instance, if you can't eat, would you pick up alcohol and become an alcoholic or drugs, cigarettes, things like that. If you binge. They just don't want you to go into this and not be mentally ready because it can be mentally challenging because they only do the surgery on your stomach and not your mind. They want to make sure that you go into this as stable as possible not saying that you are not stable. You might be surprised after the appointment. Best of luck to you and be encouraged. Remember, they specialize in the mind so answer their questions and don't ramble on giving them a reason to question anything that you might say...just simply answer the questions. Guest guest
Hi Misty, I too was worried about the psych eval but it was really no big deal. They asked me a lot of questions about my history and made sure I was aware of the risks. All they are looking for, as Pam said, is your stability and I told him how hard I had tried for how many years and I was really ready to do whatever I had to to get this weight off once and for all.
