Guest guest
My GOD!!!! I can't believe it. There are actually some of you out there having the same difficulty losing that I have. I am 2 1/2 years post op and am no where near goal. Of course I'm not disappointed in my weight loss... but still have over 100 lbs to go. During the first year and a half I lost about 160lbs. Then stopped completely for about six months when, due to various medications, I began to gain weight, and put on about 25 lbs in 4 months. I was devastated. I finally convinced doctors to get me off those medications (that weren't working for my psychiatric condition anyway), but the excess weight remained. Finally my psychiatrist decided to try a new med used not only for my bipolar disorder but is being used successfully for bulimia and binge eating disorders. Needless to say I've finally started losing again, after a year and a half hiatus. I've dropped 11 lbs in 5 wks. Hurray. Maybe the new med is my answer. It's called Zonegran. Something to think about.
