Guest guest
Welcome, and hello... If you've been reading around on the posts, you might already know that whether you have pain or not is pretty much of a crap shoot. But the odds are in your favor. Most people do not have a lot of pain. Most people do have significant numbness, swelling, perhaps bruising, and a general sense of having been hit by a Mack truck. Meaning that recovery will be a time, most likely, when you are sooo tired, and struggling to take in enough food. A few people don't even have that. A few people have bad troubles, ranging from reactions to the pain meds, to loss of a lot of blood (usually not a problem, especially if you are not having work on your upper jaw. Talk with your surgeon about these issues, and whatever else worries you. Repeat: Honestly, most people do not have much pain. I did not, and certainly nothing that wasn't controlled by the meds. Odd reactions can be more of a problem, and be sure you let your medical experts, including your anesthesiologist, know of any meds you've been taking, any allergies you know about, whether you have a history of vomiting and nausea after anesthesia, etc., etc., etc. > > I have just started to look into what I've goten myself into.
