My son DID NOT like his casting either, but he was completely fine

with his band from the first day. So hopefully the same will happen

I recently took my 5 month old to a specialist to examine the back of

her head. We were lucky. The hospital we went to do as a computer scan

that takes literally 10 seconds. The scan gives a 3d image of the

shape of her head. They said they used to have to get an image of the

hhead by casting. So this computer imaging sounds like it's relatively

new technology (it cost us $300 for the scan and any additional scans

cost $50).

The ortho specialist I talked to said she has never seen a child not

tolerate wearing a helmet. You just have to make sure you watch it

every day. I guess with helmets you gradually have them wear it more

and more each day (an hour the first day, etc...)Good luck with
