Guest guest
Kristy, it does get better. I remember posting a message saying I wanted to destroy the shoes when we first got them. Now, Aleksander wears them 12 - 14 hours a day and is just fine with them. In fact, it was shortly after he got the shoes that he started sleeping longer at night. I think it is because the shoes established a night routine for us. In any case, good luck to you over the next few days as you both adjust. It will get better, and soon the shoes really will be better than the casts! > > Hi everyone. My son (Mason) is 8 weeks old and he got his DBB > yesterday. Guest guest
That's excellent news! If you haven't heard, try to help him learn how to kick his feet as a pair rather than individually by holding the bar and bending his legs up and down in playful motions. Learning to kick togther helps them a lot. s. We're new and Mason just got his DBB yesterday Hi everyone. My son (Mason) is 8 weeks old and he got his DBB yesterday. We didn't get much sleep last night as he would pretty much only sleep if he was being held, but this morning I found a position that he likes (finally!!!). He has a vibrating pumpkin seat that reclines and he is happily playing in it as I'm typing this. Wide awake and no tears! The way he cried yesterday I thought it may be weeks before we figured this out, but he seems OK for now. I had to put 2 pairs of thick socks on his tender little feet before he would tolerate the shoes. I think that in a few days, he'll be ok with 1 pair, but his casts did a number on his feet and they look sore. Neosporin seems to give him some relief as well. It is exhausting and just plain terrible to see my baby suffer and know that it is for his own good. I hope he adjusts to this quickly. I was soooo excited to have him out of the casts, I didn't realize the shoes were worse. He's had casts since he was 6 days old and I am looking forward to giving him his 1st real bath (not a sponge bath).
Guest guest
Hi Kristy, Congratulations on reaching this milestone in Mason's treatment! It is great to hear that he is already getting better with the brace after one day =) Our daughter adjusted in just a couple of days. I did find the FAB 23/7 to be the toughest part of the treatment for us. Those who had a difficult casting process would probably feel differently though! But it really DOES go by so fast! And then when you start reducing hours, it gets so much easier! You are well on your way, and we are super happy for you and your little man!!! I would LOVE to see him in this pumkin chair lol!! Do you belong to the cfpics group yet so you can send pics? If so, please share one of Mason in this chair, it sounds too cute =) And hope you guys enjoy your first real bath!!!!! & Grace 16 mos urcf FAB 13 hrs > > Hi everyone.
