Guest guest
Hi JM, When I worked with the kids they taught me aloy about being in a cast. When they were itchy they told me hitting the cast with a wooden spoon really helped. You should NEVER stick anything in the cast or take anything out of the cast. The less active you are the less it will itch. You can also use a hair dryer at a cold air only to blow inside or sit by a fan. I know how hot and humid it is there so try to stay in airconditioning if you can. The last tip is for night time only, ask Mom or Papa for benadryl or any over the counter antihistimine. > > hi. > > as you might know, JM, my 4 turning 5 year old son just got his first cast under the ponseti treatment. > > he is complaining about an itchiness at the part near his groin cast. what should i do? he can't sleep because of it and i'm not sure how to deal with it. > > please help me. thanks! > > cynthia > > > > > --------------------------------- > Yahoo! Guest guest
You can buy a can of co2 (air) that they use for blowing dust out of keyboards, etc. or you can buy the same thing from drycast.com used for specifically that. Drycast also has alot of other things (waterproof cast covers so they can take a bath) that you can benifit from since your child is older. Unfortunatley they dont make them in baby size.
