Guest guest
....does anyone have any thoughts about this > new South Beach Diet? The recipes seem to be great.... > Darlene, I'm in my second week of the South Beach Diet. I also have 20 or so lbs to go (2 years out and scheduled for hernia repair and TT on 8/28). I lost 5 lbs the first week but have stayed the same for the past 3 days. I love the diet...the recipes are great and it is so much easier to follow than Atkins...I have to have my veggies and need them to keep regular, also a problem with Atkins. It's also lower fat and since I don't have a gallbladder I have to be careful with the fat. My husband has been doing it with me, which helps, but be prepared to spend a lot of time cooking. If you use the recipes in the book (which is not required) you'll spend a lot of time chopping. They use a lot of fresh herbs and you can't find them already chopped. I do some of the prep the night before because alot of the recipes require overnight marinating and that speeds up the production the next evening. I'm not planning to move up to phase 2 or 3. I can live without the bread and stuff so why add it back? Good luck...I hope you like it. Debbie
Guest guest
Hey Debby, I totally agree with you on this looking like a lifetime doable " food plan " I really subscribe to the advice that you should never do a diet you can't do daily for the rest of your life (2-3 day Protein Feast excepted of course ) I'm on my second try at Phase one. The lesson I learned after my first week was to be prepared. I had a weekend out of town during week 1 and boy did I blow it! Such is life I'm doing this because I regained 15 lbs from my goal weight and 20 from my lowest. I've been maintaining that gain for about 2 months now and my only wish is to get back to goal weight and stick there. I know how to stick once I decide to... just lost it for a couple of months and it crept on. Take it easy, http://www.eradain.com/apoplexy Re: Some Feedback Please Yep im going south beach diet as of tom. I like it because its sounds like a life long dueable lifestyle. Im also 20 lbs from goal and will be 2 years out aug 16th. Let me know if you want a south beach buddy Debby R (wa)
