Guest guest
e, For me, I felt like I had too many options if I went with the band. I had a way to opt out of loosing weight if I wanted to. And believe me, if I really had a choice on eating right or eating the same crap I always ate... I'd still be eating the same old crap. Besides that, the band isn't nearly as effective for long term success. It seems to fail more often then not. I wanted something that would be more effective over the long run. If I was going to risk my life having a surgery to help me lose weight I wanted to do the one that would help me forever. I could probably continue rambling on, but for me it had to be the full Gastric Bypass surgery. I had my surgery done Laparoscopically which means that instead of being cut from my chest bone to my belly button I have five little less than 1 inch incisions. I would do this surgery again in a heartbeat. I wouldn't even need to think twice about it. Ultimately either surgery will change your life and both are tools that you need to learn to use, but this tool has been incredible for me. Thanks for listening. lap band vs. Gastric bypass > I have been studying up between the two and would like some pro's and > cons of the two. Guest guest
In my case I did not need to go through a physic exam. My insurance did not require of me, but yet they do on others. They must have either known from my past records or something. I didn't question it...lol. My bowl habits have changed in the fact that prior to surgery I had Irritable Bowel Syndrome and since surgery that condition is no longer. Today I have " normal " bowel movements daily. I had an open RNY, had surgery on a Friday and came home the following Monday morning. Had very little pain after coming home, in fact the last day I took any pain medicine was for the ride home from the hospital.
