A silastic band is a band placed around the outflow of the pouch.

With the band I found people get full alot quicker and have more

trouble with things getting stuck and throwing up. That's my

experience. You should check it out. Your dr may not give you a

choice. He may or may not use the band. Also if people say they

throw up alot ask if they have the bypass with a silastic band.

Didn't have a vertical cut with my c-section. The pain from the c-

section was worse for me because they cut the muscle. with wls they

cut the same as your 'c' except up a lot higher. also my wls scar is

only about 5 1/2 in long. I also didn't have any staples or

stitches, my dr used the new glue. Wow was that great.
