Guest guest
Hi Bob, I had upper only (Leforte 1, 3 pieces). I have 4 titanium plates (2 on each side) with a total of 16 screws. I have rubber bands on each side of my mouth... it's hard to explain... they stretch over the surgical hooks, so that they are triangle shaped... upper point over the hook closest my upper pointy tooth (eye tooth?) and the two lower points stretch down at angles over the lower surgical hooks... Then, at night I have an upside triangle right in front... If I had a digital camera I would post a photo because I don't think I'm explaining the bands very well. Plus the rubber bands are doubled up on the sides...am I making any sense? Without the bands, I can open my mouth just shy of two finger widths. Last night I ate 1/4 of a cheeseburger. I cut it up into small mushy pieces and ate it with a fork. I also had 10 really soft french fries. Today I had a piece of very soft, lightly toasted, buttered toast which I tore into pieces to eat, along with chicken and spinach quiche. I didn't eat all of the chicken pieces because they were hard. ~ Swanson Oregon > > > > I saw my OS today for my 6 week post-op appt. I am free to eat > real > > food... no more liquid diet...
