Guest guest
Man, I take small sips every once in a blue moon but never drink more than that. I'm too scared! After learning what it can do to a piece of red meat or your car battery, why would you even want that inside you? ---Just my opinion! No flaming here! T. Guest guest
I For those of you who made the comment " I can drink soda " ...According to what my doctor said, you can train your pouch to tolerate anything. That goes for soda, more food, etc. The imprssion I am under, is that soda doesn't have any immediate problems, however, since there are no gastric acids in your pouch, there is nothing to absorb the carbonation. Therefore, after time, the carbonation eats away at the pouch. Be careful Mindi 277/162/135 Lap RNY 6/26/03 Size 26/28--> Size 6/
Guest guest
Mindi, That does make sense. I have never been too worried about he carbonation because I know that the acids in my stomach are stronger than carbonic acid which is what they use to carbonate drinks. But I had not thought of it from this standpoint before. You are right, there are no acids in our pouch to counteract the acid in the coke. Thanks for that. That definitely makes up my mind on the issue. And anyone can live without cokes. I have done it and it was not that bad. I went back to them just out of habit unfortunately. Once I get my pouch, no more coke!!! Guest guest
i asked my doctor if we had no stomach acids and he said we do. he said that acid in the stomach doesnt do as much breaking down as what goes on in the small intestine and that was untouched by the surgery. i dont mean to contradict, Im just telling you all what he told me because the no stomach acid thing kind of surprised me. monica Re: Re: popcorn I For those of you who made the comment " I can drink soda " ...According to what my doctor said, you can train your pouch to tolerate anything.
