Guest guest
I was diagnosed Oct., 2008 with neurosarcoidosis of the central nervous system, with a lesion in my brain and spinal cord (cervical region). I was subsequently placed on Prednisone 60mg dly for 6 months. The last M..R.I. I had in March showed no evidence of the lesions, so I am being slowly titrated down on the Prednisone and am presently on 20mg dly. Will return to the Mayo in July to see if the sarcoid has not returned. I have been bothered significantly with leg cramps and stiffness and am taking Tramadol 100mg 3 times a day, alternating with Extra Strength Tylenol 3 times a day, which does not totally alleviate it. The medical community is unable to pinpoint the exact cause of it and tend to offer me more pain medication. Adding to the mix, I fell approx 3 1/2 feet landing on my sacrum on a cold concrete floor. An X-ray and M.R.I. showed no abnormalities, but the docs think it could have caused some muscular-skeletal issues. The questions I have are: 1.) Are my symptoms caused by the titration of the prenisone or caused by damage done to my spinal cord by the lesion or a combination of both?. 2.) If other people have had these symptoms, what have you had success with? I appreciate any light you can shed on this-Thank You..Please know that my Thoughts and Prayers are with all of you, as I know you are dealing with issues much more significant than mine. Love and Peace........... B
