Guest guest
To both of you: Remember that your body, and most specifically your jaw, but your whole systems, to boot, has a lot of work to do putting the things your surgeon took apart, back together. Try to be patient with it. Nourish it well, keep it hydrated, and give it as much rest as it needs, while it's working on fixing what you had relocated. The weariness will pass, but it may take some time, and there may come a time when moving about in some exercise program is helpful. That's not likely to be really soon after surgery, but walking and other gentle movements are Good Things. I did take a dry-erase board with me when I went back to work, and I still had the splint in. I put on the dry-erase board, " Dr. Z. has threatened to do me in if I do a lot of talking. " My colleagues seemed to understand and cooperate -- or maybe they were just weary of hearing my voice and glad for the relief!
