Hi and welcome to the group. My daughter wore a STARband from age 9 to 12 months. I know how scary and nervous I felt. Please know it will be okay. My baby never minded her band at all. Have you checked out the photo section of all of the happy and banded babies? i know others will chime in with their experiences. Please let us know if we can try to answer any questions.

New, Scared, Worried...

Hello,My son has Plagiocephaly, his doctors just decided to send him to a specialist, which he is 17 months old. I am so scared and nervous cause I don't know what is going to happen. He has an appointment for this Monday coming up for the casting...Please I need to talk to someone who has and/or is dealing with this. Peggy

You are in the perfect place to talk to moms who care and want to help you. I will never forget my daughters first appointment and how nervious it made me. I got to my appointment and sat alone in the waiting room nervious as all get out wonding what was going to happen from there. I was amazed to find wonderful people awaiting my arrival with my baby in my arms and they were nothing but perfect. Amy took me into the back and measured Jerseys head and played with her and before I had even left had her paperwork together and faxed to their billing department. It is such a scary place to be when you have to depend on others to help your little one but I am sure that you will find at least that one person who you will be able to trust and they will help your baby. Always remember that we are all here for you whenever you need.

I am very new to the group as well - but have already gotten a TON

of helpful info. My 6-month old son goes this Thursday to be scanned

and then his STARband should be ready in about 10 days. I am very

nervous as well, but I know that this is what he needs. Plus it also

helps to read through old messages on this discussion board and see

so many positive experiences!
