New to group, surgery May 18th at Chapel Hill

Hi everyone,

My surgery is scheduled for May 18th, I am having both upper and

lower jaw correction and I am already nervous! I had my first pre

surgery work up this past Tuesday, and I go back on May 10th for my

lab work, and any final questions.

I am hoping this surgery will help get rid of my frequent jaw pain

and painful popping/cracking, as a result of correcting my bite. I

was wondering if anyone had any feedback about their surgeries

getting rid of pain?

Also, I was wondering about how long is average before returning to

work? I know my surgeon says a week or two, but I'd feel better

hearing it from those who have actually experienced the surgery!
