Does anyone know of a good SCD friendly doctor (or nutritionist) in the Dallas

area. My daughter (just turned 17) was diagnosed with Crohn's disease 2+ years

ago after being ill for over a year. She was put on a number of medications with

short lived (or no improvement) and ended up on TPN for six months.

When she came off of the TPN she was started on Methotrexate (again)and we

sarted on SCD. I have to admit that we really rushed the stages

Shortly after this she developed erythma nodosum (she had not had this before)

and her doctor stopped the Methotrexate and started her on Predisone and Cimzia.

He dismissed the idea that the erythma nodosum could be associated witht the

diet(die off)

She is now off the Predisone and doing well except for some increased perianal

disease (increased number/size of skin tags)

If she eats anything off the diet, however, she has problems - D and even some

bleeding, and I am just not sure if the Cimzia is actually doing any good.

I did try to bring this up with her doctor but he believes in the medication not

the diet (barely acknowledged that she still has to be careful with her diet).

I believe our doctor has really worked hard for our daughter, even sent her to

Califormnia to see a specialist, and consults with her regualarily. He just does

not seem to put any faith in diet and a more natural path which I believe is the

only hopeful path for the long term

It is unfortuntate that the new medication and the diet all happened at the same

time. I am just hesitant to stop the medication without any professional advice

since she was so ill.

Thanks
