Hello - My name is Jeanne and I live in Southeastern Wisconsin. I

had my open RNY on 5/21/02 and have lost 102 pounds. I am married

for 16 1/2 years to Dave and we have 2 daughters, ages 14 and 9. I

am very active on GBIC list, and I know some of you from there. My

weight loss has slowed a great deal over the past 3 months. At my

one year appointment, my surgeon's assistant said that it is because

I am taking in too many calories, especially in protein drinks. I

LOVE my protein drinks. I use ProComplex chocolate and add a

spoonful of natural peanut butter to each one and it is so yummy

that way. Anyway, she said that I should be keeping my calories at

800 a day in order to keep losing well. Well, after I add the p.b.

to my drink, the calories are 230 per drink. I was doing 3-4 drinks

per day, by the way, I am proximal, 150 cm. bypassed, but have tried

to limit it to 2 a day lately. I feel that the protein drinks keep

me from eating too many carbs. Without them, I take in more carbs

and sugar, so that doesn't help my weight loss either. Any advice

from the experts? My exercise is basically non-existant. I know I

need to get my butt in gear and get moving again. Well, I guess

that's enough of an intro. for now. I look forward to joining in on

some of these dicussions now. I've been lurking for the past couple

of months, and it's really hard not chiming in sometimes. Take care.
