Most vegetables can be cooked to mush and eaten. We are now

vegetarians (starting approaching it post-op by eating little meat)

and are enjoying the new diet (no meat of any kind including fowl, no

fish, still do some dairy and egg).

I bought a great book when I was vacationing last month called " 1001

Low Fat Vegetarian Recipes " (try Amazon.com), and I'm sure there are

soups in there that you could make. I made a really great ratatouille

recipe from it and that could easily be blended up for a liquid diet.

Hope that helps. Congrats on your compassionate vegetarian approach.

two of my favorite recipes (besides soup in a can):

1. Sweet Potato or Yam:

microwave or boil potato to cook, then add 4 tablespoons of butter,

loose quarter cup of brown sugar, and a large dash of pumpkin pie

spice. mix together with a spoon until creamy, then add cream or milk

(you can get fake cream or half and half or milk if you need to) as

you blenderize until its the desired consistency. adjust the amount of

ingredients for the size of the potato, the above is for a medium

sized one.

2. Broccoli Cheese Soup:

mix in any amount of broccoli and cheese, then start out slowly adding

milk (again fake if you need it) while you blender until you reach the

desired consistency. you can add more broccoli or cheese after you

taste it if needed.

when i remember more i will tell you!
