Hi ,

I was wondering if you could give me some heads up on what to expect with my recent dxd of Portal Hypertention..

I am waiting to have this procedure where they make a incision in your neck at the jugular and go down to your liver..(tips) i think its called?? did you have this done?

any information you can give me is wonderful.

Hey .. they haven't mentioned anything about doing any type of surgery yet, So I don't know about that.. I just know, that's it is caused from having a fatty liver. My symptoms was my anemia, that's where it started, my RBC and my Platletts are dropping to far. They explained it to my as due to my fatty liver and Extremely high cholestrol.. that I have formed also a spleen that its twice its normas size and it has a lesion inside the spleen that he was certain was lymphoma.. not gonna bother it because it would cause the spleen to rupture.. no there we go.. The slpeen is where adullts form its supply of rbc's and plateletts..and its also where the go to die.. Kind of weird.. our liver has now started growing a portal, a vein from there to the spleen.. and when the blood starts to circulate it doesn't go any farther than the portal, so there is no need of giving or getting a blood transplant because it would have the very same action, right back to the spleen and dies..

No problem, I hope that helps.. I've been a nurse for 30 years now and just now finding out about it myself.. Salton, has this as well..

Its almost like Sarcoidosis I had never heard of it either.. till I ended up with it.. man was that a loop to jump through..

Anyway.. I hope it all makes sense..
