I am now 5 days post op( lower advancement and sub-apical) and things seem to be

going well. I am still very numb across chin and lip area. But I also had

surgery in this area to close the spaces. I keep worring about the splint..as

far as if my upper teeth are lining up with where they should be. They are, but

its just something I think about. The splint is attached to my lower teeth. I

guess I keep worrying about my lower jaw moving out of place. Was this a problem

for you zulu?? I met with my os yesterday and he said that everything looked

fine. He took xrays and said they looked ok also. He said it is just going to

take time to heal. I go back monday to have the stitches removed from the side

of my face where they put screws through. I use a tooth brush and a waterpick to

clean. Anyone know how to clean behind the splint? and I take the 2 bands that I

have off now to eat and clean then put new ones back on. I can tell this is

going to be a long recovery. Suprisingly time has gone

pretty fast so far..I just cant tell a difference in the swelling yet. Hope it

goes away soon.

swelling usually peaks around day 5 if that helps. it should decrease

from now on, it will help if you continue to sleep on an incline.

glad to hear your are doing well and the surgery was successful!
