Guest guest
Hiya Zulu, I almost agree with you. I also had an overbite that was partially corrected with braces and then the remaining 5 mm corrected with surgery. I am still healing and worried about the asymmetry and even that I will still have a tiny bit of an overbite. I had no numbness and a big reason (not the only but a big reason) for my doing it was cosmetic... even though the change was very minor I am now happier with the shape of my face and my profile... Most people would not even realize there is a difference... It might depend on what your face is shaped like to begin with- I have a naturally square jaw and little chin so bringing it forward that tiny bit visually made my face more proportional. That you ended up with asymmetry sucks... I keep checking mine in the mirror 1000 times a day to make sure it looks straight (my bottom center line does not line up with my top center line but it never did, so it's hard to determine if my face is actually straight.... It seems to be.) Maybe you are right. I like to think that everything will be great and I made the right choice otherwise I will feel really bad. I guess each case really is different and each person has their own level of importance they place on each contributing factor and the risk/reward ratio.
