Wisdom tooth extraction WITH braces

Hi.

Has anyone had wisdom teeth removed while wearing braces and did the

sharp parts of the brackets and molar bands cause any problems or

extra discomfort? What was your experience? And if you had your

wisdom teeth out without braces would you think the brackets would

complicate things?

I had all my wisdom teeth in and braces at the same time. At one

appointment, my orthodontist put in a separator. The slight adjustment

moved my teeth so one wisdom tooth -which had never bothered me at all

and was already through the skin- was KILLING me- it was terrible. All

weekend I thought I would die and then monday, my surgeon popped out

the tooth in 2 minutes and I automatically felt better. I don't think

the braces affected the pain when the tooth came out, but getting the

braces adjusted certainly affected the pain when the tooth was there.
