I haven't spoke to you for quite some time. Hope you are well. I just wanted to remind you that you started out at a relatively 'low' weight. I like you are short, 5'2 " . I have been there and I like you have been a very slow loser. I can tell you first hand, it was driving me INSANE. I think you're doing fine considering the total amount of weight you expect to lose. Pls look at the 'whole' picture. Can't wait till you can " see " it. Bet your gonna look great! Resa
Guest guest
Hi , I realize that you feel that you are losing slower than a lot of the other DS'ers on the list, but you shouldn't be looking at numbers. You started much lower in weight than most of us. You don't say what your weight goal is, but assuming it's about 100 lbs. You have lost an average of about 9 lbs a month. At six months this would put you at 56 lbs, if you keep losing at this weight. That is over the expected 50% lost at six months. You are doing just fine Please don't compare yourself to someone like me who starts at 400 lbs. I have to lose more than what you started at to get to my goal. Congraduations on you 37 lb. lost. And, have faith in your surgery. Weight *will* come off. Maybe more slowly than for others, and maybe for a longer time than others, too. But, it will come off in the end (and in the middle and top, too ;-) ). Good luck, Steve (losing slowly, too; salivating at the thought of getting down past the elusive 300 lb. mark) --
Guest guest
Hi , At 15 weeks post-op I had only lost 42 lbs. You are post-op 15 weeks and have lost 37 lbs. My weight loss has been slow but consistent. I did find that as I began to eat more, my weight loss picked up a bit. I found that when I had dieted in the past, I stopped losing when my intake became too low. At this rate, you are averaging a loss of almost 2 1/2 lbs. a week, which isn't too bad. My surgeon also recommended that I incorporate strength training to build muscle to raise my metabolism. Hope you are otherwise feeling well.
