(Do the things you try work all right for you? Or do you have bad reactions when you do?) Clearly, going back to eating a high sugar/high starch diet -- if people were eating that in the first place -- would no doubt be counter-productive for all of us. But I, for one, don't think it's a problem -- nor unrealistic -- for a lot of us to think that some day we may/will be able to eat again some of the things we gave up, particularly some of the things tha do have nutritional benefits for "normal" people, like, e.g. (in my case), natural cocoa and/dark chocolate (I'm not talking about chocolate loaded down with sugar); or periodic slices of whole-grain bread, possibly made with sprouted flour, since that significantly reduces the starch load -- that sort of thing. In fact, that hope will/does help keep me on the diet long-term. I admit I can't relate to the thought that some have expressed here saying they "have no desire to eat like they used to." I certainly do! And I don't doubt that I always will. I don't dwell on it, of course. There's no point in that. And I don't find it particularly hard to stay on the diet. I can eat most of what the diet says is legal, so I have quite a lot to choose from; and I like to cook. And most of all I like to eat! Eating has always been one of my passions, actually; so I guess it's rather ironic that I've got an inflammatory bowel disease.n> Re: Re: Had anybody ever been cured using SCD?>>> At 08:34 AM 2/5/2010, you wrote:>>> In BTVC, Elaine at the end of Ch. 9 says there may be a time (after > say 1 or 2 years strictly on the diet) where you can reintroduce > forbidden foods one at a time.
