Guest guest
A friend just sent this to me so thought I would pass it on to all of you...its great information! Judie What is Acidophilus? L.acidophilus as it is clinically known is available as " Acidophilus Culture " , and is the natural inhabitant of the human intestine. Live yogurt contains the usual yogurt culture L.bulgaricus and S.thermophilus as well as a certain amount of L.acidophilus and L.bifidus. However, larger quantities of these latter two beneficial cultures are vastly more effective for rapidly establishing a veritable army of friendly bacteria in the intestines. " L. " stands for Lactobacilli, the family name. What does Acidophilus Do? a.. It keeps the intestines clean; b.. Eliminates bad breath, flatulence and constipation; c.. Eliminates excessive body odour; d.. Improves the complexion; e.. Relieves fatigue and red eyes; f.. Guards against intestinal upsets when on holiday g.. Reverses the intestinal damage caused by antibiotics Antibiotics destroy the friendly intestinal flora, causing an overgrowth of the fungus (italics) Monilia abricans. The fungus can grow in the intestines, vagina, lungs, mouth (thrush), on the fingers, or under the fingernails or toenails. It usually disappears after a few days of large amounts of acidophilus culture. If acidophilus is taken on a daily basis, the entire bacteria population of the intestine which makes up 80% of the solid material of the stools, becomes lactic acid organisms. These destroy the gas-forming and disease and odour-producing bacteria. The desirable (friendly) bacteria live only on milk sugar i.e. lactose, and can die within five days unless milk in some form, or milk sugar, is supplied to them. The exterior of the body in particular reflects the state of one's intestinal condition. Lackluster eyes, poor skin, dull hair, excessive wrinkles etc. are all subtle signs that intestinal flora is begging for the backing of friendly bacteria. When internal putrefaction (the decomposing of organic matter by unfriendly bacteria) is corrected, the entire exterior of the body virtually glows with good health. Diverticulosis (stagnant food in the colon and intestines) can be completely relieved by the regular use of acidophilus culture. Calcium deficiencies can also be swiftly relieved by taking acidophilus, as the calcium in the yogurt is already dissolved and hence more readily absorbed by the body than in fresh milk. Who benefits from Acidophilus? Anyone at any age will find acidophilus culture to be a foundation for building better health. Acidophilus is one of the best insurance policies you can invest in.
