The Red Mile and Tattersals Join Unlocking Autism For A Day of Autism Awareness! Saturday, September 22 the Red Mile Grand Circuit Horse Race will open with the " STAR SPANGLED BANNER " sung in dedication to those in our Nation with autism and especially the children with autism that have recently lost a parent. Throughout the day several Autism Awareness Public Service Announcements will be played on the " BIG SCREEN " which include announcements from and Aidan Quinn. A local Lexington Radio Station will host live remote coverage. Unlocking Autism will display the Open Your Eyes Picture Boards. Unlocking Autism will give away over 3000 FREE T-shirts and awareness pins. Several tables from various autism organizations will distribute information regarding autism. This is going to be a great day that will include something for everyone! The Red Mile has set up an entire area where children of all ages can enjoy a moon walk, carriage and horse rides, balloons and face paintings. And the races are sure to guarantee a good time for everyone in the family. Unlocking Autism State Representatives are coming to Kentucky from all over the country to both help at the event and to attend Unlocking Autism State Representative training sessions. We encourage everyone close to Lexington to come and bring your friends, family and coworkers. The first race begins at 12:30 and admission is free. The Red Mile is located at 1200 Red Mile Road, Lexington, KY. Any funds raised will go locally to benefit The Richmond Area Autism Group in their effort to continue free handicapped riding programs for children with autism and Nationally, money raised will assist Unlocking Autism in their efforts to continually provide information and support to parents of newly diagnosed children, training parents on advocacy and will help sponsor the second annual " POWER OF ONE! " Rally on April 21, 2002. For additional information you may contact the track or: Geoff Dubrowsky , Terri Killin or Jeana .
