Guest guest
Found this in " Bottom Line Health " this month: (never heard this before) Besides protecting aginast some tyhpes of cancer, recent research shows lycopene may also aid in bone formation and prevent bone deterioration. To get this bone-protecting effect, eat 10mg lycopene daily. That's the equivalent of one 12-oz glass of tomato juice, or one 12-oz can of tomato sauce, or one medium to large red tomato. (per Rao, PhD, ass't prof of medicine U of Toronto and co-director, calcium research lab, St. 's Hosp in Toronto). Now, I'm sure she's talking about normies here, and maybe " we " need to do twice as much, but that seems like a lot of acid to me..............just thinking out loud. But a tomato a day, I can handle; and I often take my suppl's w/V8. Anyone got any info or comments? Carol A
