We checked my NT daughter's titres before getting her her kindergarten

vaccinatiions, and she has immunities for everything but mumps. Her pedi is

recommending that she get a mumps booster. Is this considered a safe, benign

vaccine? Even though she is considered NT, she does have some attention and

behavioral issues. She regressed and became autistic-like for a brief time

after her second MMR- so I want to keep her safe.

Maybe there is an immunological reason that after two MMR vacs that she is

not developing immunities!! I would not, absolutely not immunize her and

instead, take the risk of her getting this manageable illness if it so

occurs--however, probably not that likely. I believe children w/

neurological and immunological disorders (any child on the spectrum, or ADD,

ADHD, etc) should not be immunized especially against things that are

manageable. But again , there is a reason she is not becoming immune...I

wouldnt try again. :)

Mumps is only serious for males who have reached puberty. Rubella is

serious for females who have reached puberty. Measles affects

everyone.

If your child is a girl and not yet reached puberty, personally I

would let her just " get the mumps " . She is young, and she is not

male. She has immunity already to the two diseases that are important

for girls.
