Guest guest
Hi. There is a great website that can help I believe it is GFCFdiet.com or GFCF.com. They can give you a food list of stuff for products in food store and at fast food places. I am not sure what organizations are available to you but a Celiac Group could be very helpful. Also Autism Society of American may have some info or grps also. Generally if a person is allergic to casein they can not have butter. There has been some discussion that ghee ( clarified butter type) may be okay but it is very difficult to ascertain if all milk proteins have been removed. Current thought is a little is " whey " too much . Since my children are real small I have not run into the problem with restaurants and not being able to bring foods in. I just do it. Celiac organizatin have an explanation card that might help. I understand they are inexpensive. The food list on the website will give you some ideas on hidden glutens and casein. Lots of folks call the manufacturor if they can not find the food listed as " okay " Plus companies change their recipes and ingredients so you periodically need to check. I beleive chocolate w/ cocoa butter is okay but you still need to check the ingredients. The site should help you on this too. Alot of parents avoid the whole eating out or just eat out at select places. I can tell you that's where our diet infringements happen and I don't like living with the aftereffects. As far as Serenaid. I would need to defer to someone else. My daughter is new to the diet and I don't want to try to many things at one time. Welcome, I hope that helps. Some others may have other sage advice because we are still new to the diet and learning alot.
