Guest guest
Hi Everyone, What do I say or not to say to the case worker? What does she want to hear or not to hear? I'm still working on my 10%. Has anyone lost the weight with out exercising? Thank you
Guest guest
Well , I can't address what to say to the case worker, but I can address your second question briefly. It depends on how you define exercise. If you mean a specific routine, where you do a specific set of movements for a specific period of time a specific number of times a week, then I have to say that no, I don't exercise. HOWEVER, I am pretty active. I run around with my son (5.5 years old), tend to park pretty far from store doors (I'll walk a LONG way if I can get a spot in the shade, even if it's in the back 40), take stairs instead of the elevator, do marathon shopping, am involved with a bunch of projects fixing up the house which involves a lot of lifting and climbing on ladders, etc. So I'd say I exercise, but I don't " exercise " . Make sense? What I'd say is that you should do whatever activity that gets you moving that you will actually DO. Be honest with yourself. If you won't go to a gym, save the money and don't sign up. If you're like me in this regard, no, the fact that you're spending the money every month will NOT adequately motivate you to actually go to the gym and do all those exercises. If you like watching TV, perhaps getting an exercise bike and riding while watching is what will work for you. If you have a buddy who also wants to get into shape, perhaps setting a regular time for a walk with each other to help stay motivated is what will work FOR YOU. You gotta find what works for you, and what will work for you will probably be different from what works for me. Just like all sorts of things in this whole weight loss journey! Guest guest
Know special words for the case worker, just be yourself. Exercise won't only help you lose the 10%, but needs to become a part of your life. We can use many excuses not to do it, but it is so necessary. I have screws in my feet with pieces of my hips they put in there, bad knees, fibromyalgia, arthritis and asthma, and before surgery way more than this. Before surgery I couldn't hardly walk, would fall due to my knees buckling backwards, have asthma attacks so bad, I was on deaths bed, but I knew this was something I must do. I went to Health Education and got the Tape Chair dancing and did it faithfully every morning (I had to push myself hard) and I stuck to the 1200 cal meal plan. It worked, but without the exercise I didn't even lose on 800 cal a day. I'm not sure if any one has lost the weight without exercise, but it will take alot longer and you really need it to really be healthy. I started at 270 orientation, got to 228 day of surgery and have been at 138 since 6 months post op. Every little bit of weight will make the exercising that much easier. Water aerobics which I try to do 3 times each week, have only missed 1 class in three weeks, are wonderful. I do alot, I ride bicycle, I did a Relay for Life for fighting cancer, I walk daily, use my treadmill, and elliptical, but before surgery and the weight lose this was not possible. Now I enjoy all these things. Don't give up. Take care. Donna J.ADARONE53@... wrote: Hi Everyone, What do I say or not to say to the case worker? What does she want to hear or not to hear?
