Jane,

You must be excited.... splint removal day is coming soon!!! I can't

wait for mine. Glad you found something delectable (I can't spell

tonight) to enjoy! My mom made me some cooked chocolate pudding the

other night that was really good. And slightly melty ice cream has

definitely been enjoyable. How is eating going otherwise? Have you

managed to snag a few pounds back yet? And how wide is your mouth

opening? Is your thumb all the way in yet?!?! (Mine isn't!) I didn't

manage very well with noodles when I tried them. Even though I've

been cleared to start on the really soft stuff, I am waiting until my

splint is off before I try to chew anything, even if it is ultra

soft. It is just way to much of a pain with the splint and I don't

have the time to deal with it. It already takes me forever to feed

myself without adding " pseudo chewing " into the equation.

That must be really frustrating about trying to figure the timing out

with your braces and moving. You definitely don't want them removed

prematurely. You could even now start calling to orthodontists in the

area where you'll be headed to inquire after your potential treatment

needs and possible follow up you may also need to see what they say

about cost and all. I got my first set of braces off right before

heading to university. I was so anxious to have them off. I think

they were removed prematurely though. Of course, from where I am now,

didn't ultimately really matter! But for you, don't rush as much as

you are tempted! Surely someone would be willing to work with you

without a murderous new treatment fee if you still need to have them

on..... Let me know what you figure out. Or if it is only for one or

two remaining visits, you couldn't drive back just that one or two

last times?

Do you know I am ULTRA jealous of you that your splint is coming off

before mine! I dont think I'll even be able to bear hearing about

it!! But I do agree, armed with great senses of humor and late March

birthdays.... we will get through this! And then we can share a

proverbial steak together online. :)

Uhg. In the meantime, I am kind of dying with the most pain I've felt

in this entire process. My nerves are waking up and waving a huge

painful hello!!!! My 3 aleve twice a day no longer does the job.... I

hope this passes quickly. I'm glad that my nerves are just starting

to get things rumbling again a little bit. That IS good. But very

painful!!

Keep in touch!!

Katja :)
