Guest guest
I suffer from IBS and have for many years. When it gets really bad I end up with ulcerations of the stomach also. My understanding from the specialists I have seen is that the diarrhea and the constipation are both signs of IBS. Or that constipation is a sign of diarrhea also. It just means the body is swinging from one pendulum side to the other and not reaching a balance. I have gas frequently (well honestly, most of the time) and it increases at night. I also have urgency. I have extra trouble with this because of my sphincter (sp) has never been the same since the birth of my first child where I had a 4th degree tear which is all the way through the anus. ICK This concerns me as I read about some issues with DS. But since I already have to live knowing exactly where all the bathrooms are I guess it won't be much different for me. I have increased the fiber in my diet and that has helped quite a bit in stabilizing this issue and of course the proverbial drink water. I don't take extra meds for this except when the ulcers come into the act. I take so many meds on a regular basis that I try to avoid adding more and more. Is there any data relating to the DS that states a connection with and IBS condition being exacerbated by the DS? Can my gas smells really get any worse???? Oh my, that could be something.
