Hi all,

I am new to this list. I have 2 boys, (6) and

Tyler (2). Both boys have been diagnosed with Sensory

Integration Dysfunction and has been informally

diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome. I took both boys

to an allergist this week and without testing them he

gave them zyrtec and told me to omit a whole list of

foods (dairy, wheat, eggs, nuts, peanuts, chocolate,

soy, citrus and tomato). He based this on thier

history of life long extreme excema, dark circles

under eyes, constant bothersome nose (runny or

stuffy), and other non-stop allergy issues. I thought

the list was a little extreme considering no testing

was done. I have had on the Feingold diet for

a couple of years, but not with a lot of results (some

slight changes). I am debating whether or not to give

up the Feingold diet and try the GFCF diet. I am

interested in any feedback you can give me regarding

this diet and children similar to mine (not autistic,

but DSI and/or Aspergers). Is it successful and if so

how? What types of foods do you give them -

especially for lunches at school? How do you do this

diet without going bankrupt? If you buy breads and

stuff in bulk, how do you keep it without wasting it?

Is it worth it all? What were your symptoms before

diet, and what has improved? Is the improvement

solely to the GFCF diet? I know these are alot of

questions, but I am so torn. My son hated being on

Feingold, and this diet seems so much more limiting.

I am scared to do another diet change. I am also

scared of hurting my kids? How do you supply them will

all the nutrients that they are missing from this diet

(calcium, etc)? Any help would be greatly

appreciated. You can email me privately at

dream5866@... if you do not want to take up list

space with this.
