Guest guest
Hi, I had lower jaw moved forward 5mm. I had an 11mm overjet before orthodontics. The ortho and surgeon suggested orthodontics and surgery. However, orthodontics brought my overjet to within 5mm - it also widened my upper and lower palette. The result: i looked GREAT. Stupidly, i went ahead with the surgery to correct the remaining 5mm overjet. The result was slight asymmetry, longer and thinner looking face. The only benefit i got was perfect bite and better profile. This, in my opinion, was not worth the risk of numbness and other complications. My conclusion: Don't have surgery for small bite problems if you're only doing it for cosmetic reasons... IT'S NOT WORTH THE RISK > > > > > > Hello, I am 5 weeks post op lower advancement.
