Guest guest
-- Shirley How did you get to talk to dr. Welker. I called his office today and got the recorder and they have not returned my call yet. I would not expect to talk to him personally when they do though ..- In duodenalswitch@y..., Shirley Groom <shirley@b...> wrote: > Please tell me whatever you know about Dr. Welker (Eugene, OR). Guest guest
The office phones are not exactly in good working order right now so Welker had ordered a new broadband satellite system for his communication devices at the office and they should be up and running. If not, he wants to know about it so send an email. Your best bet getting ahold of him personally is thru email......hes not always in the office and shares the office with another surgeon. If you email him and wish to talk with him personally then include your phone number in the email! Re: Dr. Welker > -- > > Shirley > How did you get to talk to dr. Welker. Guest guest
I did all of my pre-op research with Welker. I had planned on him doing my surgery, but he took a hiatus and I hand to change surgeons. I spoke with him for an hour on the phone, and exchanged numerous e-mails. He is incredibly kind, has lots of experience and a wonderful rapport with bariatric patients. His patients absolutely love him. You really couldnt do better than Dr Welker. Guest guest
One other thing about Dr Welker, Shirley...... He is also a general surgeon so he has done lots of other surgeries over the years prior to the DS. I would trust him with my very life! Guest guest
Does Dr. Welker do only 'open' as well >>>>> Dr Welker does both the open and the lap. (My DH had the lap and I had the open) He stopped doing the lap for awhile after Joe Frost and but has resumed them now. What happened to Joe and affected Welker terribly......he really cares about what happens to his patients. when God created Dr Welker he threw away the mold........ I know about Joe's comps, but who is , and what happened? It must have been before my time--can anyone give me a brief synopsis? Guest guest
developed a gangarine (sp) in her bowel about 10 days out and was readmitted and had surgery for it.....she was very sick after that but recovered and I believe it took her 3-4 months. ran the gift shop at OHSU where Welker was a surgeon and they were good friends. Politics interfered and got really bad over what happened to which wasnt Welkers fault as lab tests showed. Judie
Guest guest
How high is the leak rate for the NY doctors? Thanks, Meli -- In duodenalswitch@y..., chull1@s... wrote: > > > I agree with Welker's opinion regarding the stapled anistomosis, and > that explains the high leak rate that the NY doctors have reported.
