Guest guest
My husband and I are planning on moving out of state. He wants to start working freelance and when he does this, we will be responsible for getting our own insurance. Has anyone out there gotten insurance after having surgery? Do I have to pay the super high premiums because of my previous surgery? Does anyone have experience with this? I need some advice. Thanks Machelle Surgery 5-8-01 Down 75 lbs
Guest guest
, For the time being you should select COABRA coverage, as this will allow you 18 months extension on your current insurance. You will have to pay the premiums, but they should only be a little higher (10%) than what your current employer is paying. After that you should be able to convert your group plan to an individual plan. At that point your premiums will go up substantially and your coverage will get worse. As long as you keep your coverage continous, you will not have problems being denied coverage based on health. Hull > My husband and I are planning on moving out of state.
