Guest guest
I just wanted to see if anyone is going to be at Dr. Ponseti's office on Friday the 23rd? We are going at 9:00 am.... I am so excited to be going... I have always wanted to go see him and meet him but was a little leary only because we feel like Avery's feet are fully corrected and she is doing AWESOME... she has NO problems with the bar/shoes at this point and her foot looks so good... I forget sometimes that it was actually so twisted... I am so glad that I have pictures to look back at...who would of thought that any of us would ever say that, right???..... so the reason I am going to go is she is going to be 1 1/2 on the 24th and she isn't walking yet so I am getting a little concerned... she walks behind everything she can and is finally walking holding onto one of our hands... she would always look for the other one to hold also.... she gets around by pushing things and climbing everything but she just still seems wobbly to me.... she seem to have 'loose' ankles.... I am not sure if that would be the right thing to say or not but they are small and seem to be so fragile... I just think the 'master of all leg issues' could tell me more of what is going on... I am hoping he says that she is just taking her own sweet time but I will feel better getting that from him....she was 2 months premature so I am thinking that I have technically until Feb 24th before I get to concerned but if there is anything that we can do in the meantime I want to get on it... we have seen a physical therapist (she thinks it is just a matter of time) and also her pediatrician and the pediatric ortho also think it is a matter of time... the way she pulls up and walks around furniture and all they can't imagine that there would be a problem...does anyone have any input on this?... do you think it is OK to go see him.. I don't want to waste his valuable time.... but on the other hand it will be good for him to actually see Dr. Lemke's work and either know that she has done well or not... I hope she will not be offended when she finds out that we went to see him... we have an appointment with her on the 28th of this month also.... it should all be very interesting ... I am just glad that everything will be fresh in our minds when we go see her... I think Dr P will be putting us in a new pair of Markell's too... she is due for it... they are getting a little short for her little growing feet.... I have babbles enough but please let me know if anyone is going and any input anyone has about Avery's walking please let me know!!

Guest guest
- The no walking thing has hit home with us-our son loves to cruise, loves to walk holding onto anything. However, at 15.5 mo, he is not free standing nor free walking. He also is extremely flexible and loose ligamented throughout his whole body. Our ped and ped ortho too wasn't terribly concerned-they said at 18 mo they would get concerned-we however are and so with much pestering, got prescribed smo's to wear during the day. We just received them yesterday-and maybe my eyes were tricking me, but he just seemed steadier on his feet. They are similar to afo's however, do not sit so high on the ankle and they address his pronation. Also, he was born missing 1 big toe and has half of another big toe so they made the foot plate longer on each one so that it would give him almost an " artificial " big toe. Best of luck with your visit-I would love to take to see the master-and maybe down the road we will. I don't think you will be wasting his time-baby and feet are his life! take care, kathleen mom to david bcf fab 12/7 > > I just wanted to see if anyone is going to be at Dr. Ponseti's office on Friday the 23rd?
