Guest guest
Hi there everyone, Surgery is this thursday at 730 am. my parents came into town yesterday to hang out and help get me prepared, and to stya with me for a bit after the surgery. In true Michigan fashion, it started snowing today, and we're expecting up to 8 inches by tomorrow night. Great! My california parents are excited about this, i'm sure. Speaking of parents--my dad seems to have caught some kind of nasty cold (or hopefully just allergies) so he's staying away from me. Has anyone had a cold going into surgery? Does anyone know if these things need to be cancelled if you're all stuffed up? i am having lower only, os i'm not sure if it would be that big of an issue. so, i've got lots of anxiety here due to ancilliary things, like my parents dealing with the weather, catching a cold, not being able to see my dad...anybody have any insight on the cold thing? Looking forward to getting this over with and moving on...i think i would be 10x happier if it were a bit drier out right now... pamela
Guest guest
Hi Pamela, It's nice that your parents are coming to help you afterwards - it is very helpful to have someone around! As far as the cold is concerned - call your surgeon. Of course, it is better not to be sick going in, but I don't know if they would actually cancel a surgery over this. Both my parents have cold right now. My dad hasn't stopped by since Friday because he doesn't want to get me sick. However, my mom has been spending nights at my house because my husband is working night shifts right now, and she got a runny nose today as well. You can never count on someone staying healthy in this kind of weather in Michigan (or anywhere north for that matter . Good luck with your surgery!
