They teach us BEFORE the surgery what we need to know and the tools to us AFTER the surgery. I am 4 1/2 months port-op and still don't eat beef, lettuce or too many fresh veggies or fruits. I had a friend that had the surgery at a private surgery center and they did the surgery and sent her on her way. No classes, almost no follow up and no support system. I don't need to tell you she wasn't very successful. Nope, I am thrilled I went through Kaiser.
