Adult with Plagiocephaly

Hi,

I am 23 years old and I have plagiocephaly. It has greatly altered my

self esteem because 1) my ear on that side is misaligned and sticks way

out and 2) my head is nearly completely flat on the right side and it

has caused the right side of my face to be deformed looking. I was

wondering if any doctors in the US did surgery on adults to fix this

problem? I was just curious if that was a possible option in the

furture.

Hi Lyndsey-

I'm so sorry to hear of your struggles with plagio. I'm not sure that

I know the exact answer to your question, but hopefully we can point

you in the right direction. I believe that there is a surgery for

adults, but I'm not sure how widely performed it is. You might want to

check out the Older Plagio message board on as well, they

might have more information on it:

There is also another message board that I came across in my research

along the way that had posts from adults like yourself with plagio. I

don't have the link to it anymore, but I think some other people on

this board have seen it before too, so hopefully one of them can post

the link for you. Or you can try googling " untreated plagiocephaly, " I

think that's how I found it.
