Hi All,

Just a short note to say I am doing much better than expected! (Yeah!)

It's my sixth day since the 1st part of my surgery (sleeve

gastrectomy) at Mt. Sinai with Dr. Gagner.

I'll send through a detailed account when I return home, but right now

I am at my mom's for a couple of weeks, and her internet is tied into

the main office, which is 2 blocks away from the WTC, and her sender

has been down (Thank God that is the worst of my problems right now).

All of us here are still in shock about the whole terrorist attacks,

as are all Americans. Luckily, none of my family or friends were

directly involved, but we all know people who have lost loved ones.

As to me, I am doing great! I can eat basically everything I've tried

so far, which runs the gamut from eggs, oatmeal, soup, & yogurt to

Chinese garlic eggplant and mom's homemade chili. I eat very small

portions (1/4 - 1/2 c at a time) 4 or 5 times a day, and drink i liter

of water and 1 liter of Crystal Light per day, and chew my Tums

w/calcium and Flintstones vitamins w/every meal, and crush my

imitation prozac, aciphex (for reflux) and albuterol and accolade (for

asthma) once a day.

Today I'm going to try to walk a bit out in the yard.

So, all in all, I'm doing great. The pain feels much like being one

big black and blue on my left side, but I'm off the pain meds since

day 2 in the hospital.

As soon as I have access to the list I'll update all.

Thanks so much for all your concern, especially with the assault on

Tuesday. Your prayers and thoughts are deeply appreciated. They

definitely did the job!

Talk to you all soon!
