Guest guest
A skilled ortho should get the fit right - and they will probably do several adjustments before you leave the office. I know for us it took a few days to almost a week before we got the fit right. We got the band on a friday and went back on monday to get re fit and then were there a few more times before it was correct. We had a Hanger band... I'm not sure it that is the norm or if it was just for us. What kind of band are you getting? How do I know the helmet/band fits properly, what should I look for? The drive to the clinic is 3.5 hour one way. So I am hoping that we can get the helmet fit properly that day, so that I do not need to drive down again until the next schedule fitting. Guest guest
Hi, Jen, We are getting a Hanger Cranial Band. What you described is exactly what I want to avoid if possible - going back to the clinics multiple times within the first week after the initial fitting, as the drive is 3.5 hour each way plus us-can border crossing. But we will do what we have to do. Cheers, Alison
Guest guest
You may want to spend the night near the ortho just to see if any redness comes up. Also, Hanger has a break in period... so you may find that after going home you can go back after a few days (if needed) and then spend the night there so that you can see if any further adjustments are needed.
