Thanks for responding!! It's interesting to know of the pros and cons.

Someone replied to me and told me it contained lactose, as do all of the

others as a binder for the pill. Being GFCF, I am reluctant to start this. He

has seen a dev. ped. last Wed. and I expressed the concern about the diet.

She has ordered a lactose breath test to see if he has a sensitivity to this.

Depending on the results, I may or may not try it. I have heard of the weight

loss issue: did you give it to him in the AM? How old is your child?? Do you

now have to give the Ritalin a few times a day?? What do you mean by he's

injurous to himself and others???? (describe the behavior). What diagnosis

does your child have(if any)? Keep in touch, as this is an issue I need some

mentouring from someone who's been there........Thanks again, Cheri****

Cherri,

I know this is awhile back (we were on vacation). Our son Graham was on

Adderall for a while--we had only marginal success with it and found he had

a lot of mood swings and developed some behaviors such as picking his lip

and biting his nails. Also, the appetite suppression was a big deal since

Graham hadn't gained any weight in about 2 years. This was pre-diet for us.

These virtually immediately disappeared after we took him off, and he has

gained around 6 lbs since the diet started in January, 2001. Nail biting,

etc. also went away very quickly after discontinuing Adderall. Just my .02

on our experience..good luck.

Fondly,

J
