Guest guest
Hi Sheryle: One reason I chose the DS is so I could use anti-inflammatories. I've talked to too many RNY patients whose fibro is actually worse post- op. They live in agony, able to find relief in narcotics. They're happy with their weight loss, but... Right now my fibro is pretty well controlled. This is due to me seeing an acupuncturist every two weeks. She keeps me at a good level. The only exercise I do now is walking, but my strength and stamina have greatly improved post-op. The flu symptoms are practically non-existant. My immune system has strengthened (last week I got a cold and it DIDN'T turn into bronchitis or pleurisy - Yeah!!) I'd already gained most of my weight before the fibro hit. Within three years of diagnosis I was in constant, unrelenting pain. All my many docs wanted me to go on disability (at age 36) but I was really stubborn. Fortunately, I found my wonderful acupuncturist. Within three treatments I was down from 17+ different daily meds to just four. I still get regular steroid injections for my arthritis, but rarely have to take the anti-inflammatories, muscle relaxers, or narcotic pain meds. Good luck, > Dear P: > I also have fibromyalgia and was wondering if you are pre or post op? I > would like to know how you are feeling. Do you notice less pain? What about > the flue like symptoms?
