Hi! I am new here, having found out about this site from the AMOS

site.

I had surgery almost 13 months ago. I stopped losing weight after

about 8 months post-op and hope I can get some great ideas here to

get the loss going again!

I am 50 y.o. female. Had surgery 4/15/02. Open RNY. Lost 27 lbs

the first month, and after that was lucky to lose 5 lbs a month.

After about 8 months, I had lost about 55 lbs and have been bouncing

around there [209-215] ever since. I am 5'2 " and was 268 the day of

surgery. This a.m., I am 215.

No matter what I eat, no matter how much or how little I eat, no

matter what type or amount of exercise, I can't seem to drop anymore

wt and I still have 80-100 lbs to lose. Right now, losing another 40

would be encouraging!

Typically, I eat anywhere from 700-1200 cal a day. I typically get in

65-80g. of protein a day. Drink enough water, crystal light, and

decaf iced tea. I exercise, either walk the treadmill or ride my

exercycle 30 min a day 5-7 days a week.

I am looking for ideas from others who have been in my situation and

found a way to start dropping pounds. I am a pretty positive, upbeat

person, but have to admit this gets me down sometimes.

My surgeon said at my last appt. that I am doing everything right and

just must be a slow loser due to slow metabolism. I seem to be a non-

loser at this point though, and do -not- want to stop here.

I have been obese most of my life, and a yo-yo dieter since I was

about 12 years old. Had surgery when I was 49. Before surgery, I

had done every diet known to woman. Had reached goal some of the

times. Always gained back all plus more.

I know this is going to be a great site for information, friendship,

and encouragement, and I hope to contribute as well as reap from my

visits here.

Take care, all, and God bless.
