Guest guest
Hi everyone, I took a list typed and printed out with me to Dr West's consult with me last Thursday. I told him I had a few questions, and then pulled out the typed pages! lol He was very good though and answered most of them, and some were answered by the staff. Here goes... Diane - Yours was the only question I didn't get a complete answer on. His staff said that since you have had an initial consult, just call the office with your question about your chin with your lower advancement, and they will pull your file and discuss it with you. They said that varies by patient. They have your initial file and measurements, and they can discuss it with you. Dr West said he rarely places incisions on the outside of the cheek. It would depend on the situation, as there might be a situation where it was necessary, but it is definately not something he does even occassionally. Luna - I asked his staff about pictures you might want to bring to the appointment, and they said it would probably not be helpful. The jaw will be brought into position where it is functional for you. But you know, if you have some specific ones picked out, I would bring them anyway. He is so easy to talk to, and he answered even my more basic questions without acting like they were strange! lol You could show him one or two and see if that would be anything like what he thinks you might have as a result. The surgery is performed either in his clinic which is Medicare certified, or across the street at Providence Hospital. The accomodations in Seattle - The Providence Inn, which are former patient rooms that have been converted into one or two bed units are really basic, but one of the best buys in Seattle near the hospital. They run $65/nite, and have access to a kitchenette, and a continental breakfast. But they are really basic. If you have a car available with you, there are several places that would qualify. The Silver Coulds Inn at Lake Union is close to downtown and many shops and centers there. There is another one by the University of Washington, which is nice because it is near a bevy of little shops and outlet stores. These are both really popular if you have a car and someone to be with you. They said the Seattle International Hostel is near Pike Place Market is at least a 15 minute drive or cab ride to Dr West's office. It is near a really unique part of Seattle, but it is a little rough in that area, particularly at night. If you have a car, parking there would more than offset the savings on nightly lodging. All day parking anywhere near there is like $10/day. Nightime can be more. You would really want to research this if you are thinking of staying there. If I missed anything, please let me know! I hope this helps your planning! Fran
