Guest guest
Hi Tracey! Welcome to the group and congrats on your daughter! When you say that her feet are purple, is this all over and does it fade a bit during your hour out? Do you notice that her feet are cold at all when you take the shoes off? Just wondering if the cold may have something to do the the color. It is common for the feet to be somewhat red after 23hr wear. It was explained to me by our orthotist who is just awesome (has a rcf herself) that anyone wearing tight fitting leather shoes would have red feet after so many hours wearing them, esp a baby with such soft skin. But actual bruising hmmm, here is the link to join the CFPics group this group allows you to send pics, could you possibly take a pic of her feet so that we could take a look, don't like the sounds of that (bruising) there is a short survey that needs to be filled out and returned, here's the link http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/CFPics/ Our daughter had this redness too, sometimes the outline of a particular area of the shoe would be noticable when we took them off too. She also had red spots on the top of her feet from the strap that didn't go away really until the last couple of months. The redness never seemed to bother her much and it did fade slightly during our hour out and as we reduced hours, it got much much better, she now has no redness/marks on her feet at all =). My advise would be to just keep an eye on it. As long as you don't see any blisters or potential sores forming, all should be fine, you are almost half way through =). The 23/7 was definately the hardest part of the treatment for us but looking back now that she is 18 mos, it seems that it flew by. As for her fussiness, well, babies change their sleeping patterns at the drop of a hat, are you nursing? Does she calm down right away when you pick her up and feed her? Grace wanted to eat At Least every 3 hours until she was 5 or 6 mos and would get super mad if the 'nur' wasn't there on demand the little chunk lol. She also went through a really gassy (super duper fussy) period at about 3 mos, I gave her both Gripe and Oval but found that the Oval worked much better than the Gripe. HTH some.
