Guest guest
Hi : I'm new to the group too. I think it is definitely a personal choice for each of us to have this surgery. We all have different circumstances and we have to choose what is best for us. This was my one chance to actually do something for me because I have always taken care of everyone else in my life first. This is all about me. I felt selfish at first, but realized that if I don't do this then I could die early anyway and lead a short life. I have the outlook on life that when it is my time to go, I will go, no matter what I'm doing or where I am at. I wasn't scared at all. I looked forward to running around the park with my children and not being out of breath after 2 minutes. Not only would I have a better quality of life, but so would my children. I believe everything happens for a reason, so I knew when I was approved by insurance and cleared by all the pre-testing that it was meant to be. Again, it is a very personal decision for each of us to make. I know it is not an easy decision, but you will make the right one. Guest guest
oops, sorry about the typo.... right, 2003. Almost one year. Unfortunately the weight loss has come to a screeching halt for the last five or six weeks, but my Dr. is not concerned. I am hoping that this is a " re-adjustment " period. I am sticking to the plan I created for myself, which is basically high protein, although I do drink the occasional de-caf mocha, which has sugar in it. I don't really have a problem with sugar-- greasy things like potato chips tend to bother me more. I have noticed that the volume of food I can consume until I feel it has increased, and that is scary, and I have to really watch the snacking thing, or I could easily go out of control. I hope that this is a temproary plateau, or else I might actually have to start (GASP!) exercising! Helena
Guest guest
You've lost all of that weight without exercising??? Good googly moogly! Well, 5-6 weeks isn't bad, especially given the incredible amount lost thus far. Keep up the good work Helena!
