Guest guest
I have a 9 year old with AS, and a 2 year old with probable mild AS. I wonder if I had known about this diet 8 years ago if the 9 year old would be as mild as the 2 year old but that is water under the bridge. We definitely notice a difference in eye contact and speech with the 2 year old when he is on the diet. My question is that the 2 year old has been increasing his visual stimming. He will put items over his shoulder or head a lot and I know it is because he is " watching " them go out of his line of vision. We are gfcf for about a month now and have noticed this in about the last week. (We were previously gfcf for about 6 months but planned an infraction period about a month ago because dh was constantly questioning and undermining the diet. Let me just say that now I have a dh who is 100% pro for this diet and while I hated the infraction this will go a long way in helping this diet be a lifelong thing around here. Also who should I be going to to help with the stimming? Would that be handled by OT or opthamologist or who? Does anyone know anything I can do at home to help with this? Are there any other interventions I should be trying? Sorry for all the questions but as you can tell I am really at a loss on how to handle this. It is starting to interfere with his activities. -Meggie
