Numbness - is it permanent?

Hi all,

I'd like to ask those who have had surgery behind them for a year or

more, is the numbness permanent? I asked my surgeon, he told me there

is a chance the sensation could come back. He said give it several

months to a year. Is this true? I had my surgery three weeks ago and

sometimes I feel itch in the numb area and I try to scratch it to no

avail. I wonder if anybody else experience this?
